NARDI is a Research Technology Organisation under Botswana's Ministry of Agriculture. Established in January 2015 as a company limited by guarantee, it merged the Department of Agricultural Research, the National Veterinary Laboratory and the National Food Technology Research Centre. It conducts research and development across the agricultural value chain to support farmers, industry and government.
The institute operates through departments including Animal Production and Health, Field Crops and Horticulture, Food Science and Technology, Agricultural Economics and Statistics, Natural Resources Management, and Agricultural Engineering and Mechanisation. Its work covers technology transfer, commercialisation, yield improvement and climate adaptation for Botswana's agricultural sector. NARDI also publishes research outputs, offers public services, and shares tenders, vacancies and news on its website.
